Real giving is when we give to our spouses what's important to them, whether we understand it, like it, agree with it, or not.

After each program at the
Guilford County Marriage Resource Center, we seek feedback from participants.

The number one comment we hear is that the program was very helpful. The second most common? That they wish they had heard about us sooner. Help us spread the word about our programs.

Do you have a website? If so, please add a link to the Guilford County Marriage Resource Center at www.gcmarriage.org.

Marriage Month 2007

For 5 years, the Family Life Council has sponsored Marriage Month in the month of February. It seems like everywhere you look this time of year there are pink and red hearts and flowers and chocolates and romance.

The Guilford County Marriage Resource Center sponsors Marriage Month because we believe that something as valuable as a marriage should not be neglected. This is an opportunity for our community to refocus our attention and energy towards caring for our relationships. We need to recognize what is working well and protect those habits. We also need to deal with those habits which are destructive to our relationships. What better time to learn something new and get support for a positive change.

There are some programs already planned at sites across our community and there is still time to plan more. If you have a program at your organization, let us know and we will help spread the word. If you want to sponsor a program where participants can learn healthy relationship skills, let us know and we will find the right program. We can be reached at info@gcmarriage.org or at 336-333-6890 ext. 227.

Honor Someone Who Inspires Healthy Marriages

In 2004 the Family Life Council launched the Guilford County Marriage Resource Center with a very special celebration of 35 couples who had been married for more than 35 years. That event, Love for Life Banquet, was noteworthy because it gave us all a chance to focus on lasting, healthy relationships. There are constant examples around us of unhealthy, unhappy, and temporary relationships and it can become easy to lose sight of the benefits and possibilities for strong, enduring marriages.

We hope you have been fortunate enough to meet someone who champions healthy relationships, who supports others in their relationships when needed, or who has set an example by their own relationships. We would like to invite you to make a contribution to support the Guilford County Marriage Resource Center in honor of someone you feel inspires healthy marriages in our community.

In honor of your generous gift, the Guilford County Marriage Resource Center will send them a personalized card and recognize their achievements in our publications. Your gift will enable more couples to prepare or find enrichment for a healthy marriage.

The Guilford County Marriage Resource Center is working across NC

“If we are together nothing is impossible. If we are divided all will fail.”
Winston Churchill

The Guilford County Marriage Resource Center is now working to build coalitions in communities across North Carolina. Through our efforts to build statewide support for healthy marriages, we have found individuals and organizations committed to supporting healthy marriages in many communities. Sometimes we have found two different groups working in the same community who are not aware of one another.

We have staff and volunteers who are able to come to your community to help you build a coalition of support for a minimal fee. When you work with others in your community to build healthy relationships, you will reach more people and have a stronger influence. Contact us today to discuss your needs and make arrangements.

“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress.
Working together is success.”
Henry Ford
